Moon fact | What if there is no Moon

The Moon is a celestial body orbiting the Earth and is the only natural satellite of the planet. It is the fifth largest satellite in the solar system, and is the largest satellite ever orbiting among the planet's satellites relative to the size of the planet.

Surface kf the moon

Distance between Earth and Moon: 384,400 km,

Gravity of Moon: 1.62 m/s²,

Radius of Moon: 1,737.1 km,

Age of Moon: 4.53 billion years,

Surface area Moon: 3.793×107 km2; (0.074 of Earth's),

Moon's Alternative names: Luna; Selene (poetic); Cynthia (poetic),

What if there is no Moon

Earth and Moon

The Moon has an important role in our life and relationship with Earth: If the Moon were not, our daily lives would change significantly as humans.

The first and most obvious change will occur during the night. The nights will be incredibly deep, as the Moon provides light to the Earth during the night hours by reflecting light from the Sun. Scientists suggest that without man-made lighting, we would not be able to see the hand in front of our face during the night without the moon. However, not only will the nights be darker, but our days will also change.

Just as the Earth draws a gravity, the Moon also draws a gravity on the Earth. The Moon draws on the Earth and slows the Earth's rotation. The Moon's stretch forms a bulge near the Earth's equator, meaning the water level at the poles is low.

The gravity of the moon causes the oceans on our planet to rise and fall. As the water moves, there is slight friction between the moving water and the spinning Earth. This friction causes the Earth’s rotation to slow slightly. If there was no moon, then the water might spread across the planet equally and reduce the amount of friction.

This means that the Earth will not slow down, which means that the hours of our days will change. Suddenly without the moon, our days would last between 6 and 12 hours, rather than the 24 hours we now experience. If our days become shorter, then there will be more days in our calendar year. Instead of 365 days in a year, we will have more than a thousand.

Since the moon affects the height and speed of the earth's water, the tide of our ocean will shrink. High tide is where the sea moves toward the moon, or where the moon draws toward the sea. On the opposite side of our planet, the sea swells with the moon, creating another high tide. Low tide comes on either side of the ridge. Remember that the Earth is rotating, so the high tide becomes the low tide as the Earth turns.

Scientists suggest that without the Moon, the tides would be 1/3 of the size they are now. They are now smaller than high tide, and low tide will also be lower. This is because the sun should affect the tide and not the moon; However, there is a weak stretch in the sun, which will reduce the tide.

Changes in the Earth's rotational speed and changes in the Earth's tilt will also affect the Earth's weather patterns. If the Moon slows down in the rotation of the Earth, the Moon also affects the wind and wind speed on our planet. Without the Moon, we would see an increase in wind speed. Winds can be much louder and stronger without the Moon.

According to spacexstn, we can see changes in the weather as a whole. The Moon affects the angle of inclination of the Earth. Currently, the Earth sits at an inclination of 23.5 degrees. This means that our planet tilts slightly to sit in space. Tilt creates what we know as the seasons and the changing seasons. Without the pull of the moon, this inclination will change. Either the tilt will be extreme, leading to extreme and severe weather, or the tilt will decrease, and we will see almost no weather.

As we know that the Moon affect the life on Earth. It also affects our oceans, the weather and the hours in our days. Without the moon, the tide will fall, the nights will be deep, the weather will change and the length of our days will change.
